Supporting your child's physical, social, and emotional wellbeing is more important now than ever! Virtual interactive classes are here to support all of these aspects of your child's wellbeing, so they can navigate current challenges (such as change, disappointment, worry, frustration, loneliness) with greater resiliency & balance.

The following courses for children and teens will return this fall in a virtual format. As long as COVID-19 restrictions are in place, courses will be offered online and children will receive special kits with the themed materials they need for projects. When it becomes safe to meet in person, classes will resume at the Maitri Center for Mindful Living.

Mindful Kids

for elementary school aged children

Virtual 5-week course on Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30 PM

Session I: September 16- October 14 (grades 3-5)

Session II: October 21-November 18 (grades K-2)

Life is full of ups & downs, even for children. Our current pandemic is one example of this. Mindfulness offers kids lifelong skills that can help them navigate all kinds of experiences with greater awareness, balance & compassion. Through engaging activities, students learn to focus, manage stress, regulate emotions & develop a positive outlook.They learn to pause & respond to situations rather than react. They develop a better understanding of themselves, others & the world around them, leading to a deeper sense of wellbeing. Interactive activities & creative processing are all part of the experience!

$95 for all 5 weeks. Fee includes all materials delivered to your home in the Oregon School District (alternative arrangements made for families living outside OSD). Limited scholarships available to families in need of financial assistance. Contact to inquire about financial assistance.

Study Break Yoga

NEW for middle & high school students!

Feeling stressed, stuck, or overwhelmed by current circumstances related to the pandemic or life in general? Take a mid-day break from school work to stretch out, refresh, and re-energize your body and mind! We’ll explore yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques to manage stress & meet life’s ups and downs with greater balance, confidence, and resiliency.

No prior experience necessary. Yoga mat or beach towel recommended for practice.

Breathing Room

Mindfulness for Teens grades 6-12

Not currently offered. Check back in late fall/winter!

Feeling stressed or overwhelmed by too many demands? Give yourself some breathing room to come home to your authentic self.

This 5-part mini-series takes a mind-body approach. We’ll release tension through yoga & mindful movement, explore deep relaxation, learn practices in self-compassion & gratitude, and restore inner confidence & joy through mindful meditation.

Mindful Kids Club

This program is for elementary students in grades K-5 who have taken a Mindful Kids course in the past. We will explore previously learned mindful awareness techniques & apply them to fun seasonal activities. This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to refresh & refine their skills in an engaging context among peers.
