Supporting your child's physical, social, and emotional wellbeing is more important now than ever before! Small group in-person classes are being offered at the Maitri Center to support all aspects of your child's wellbeing, so they can navigate our ever-changing world with greater resiliency & balance. Maitri Center welcomes children & families of all abilities, genders & identities. Mindful Kids 4-week series for students in grades K-4

4 Thursdays, May 5-26, 6-7 PM

In person at Maitri Center

By planting the seeds of mindfulness, children will discover their inner calm and social connectedness through interactive games, stories, movement, and crafts!

Some activities may take place outdoors weather permitting.

Cost: $70 (includes all materials)

Please register using parent or guardian's name. A liability form for your child will be emailed to the parent and must be returned before the start of class.

Mindfulness for 'Tweens & Middle Schoolers

Specially designed for pre-/early adolescent students in grades 5-8 (ages 10-14), this engaging 6-week series teaches the essential elements of mindfulness through the acronym BREATHE:

  • Body & sensory awareness

  • Reflections (thoughts)

  • Emotions

  • Attention

  • Tenderness (kindness & compassion)

  • Healthy habits of mind

  • Empowerment

By cultivating mindful awareness of inner and outer experiences, students of all genders & identities will learn to connect with their innate peaceful and compassionate nature while practicing techniques that pave the way for greater balance, resiliency, and emotional intelligence.

Central to this course is our focus on nurturing our authentic selves through exploratory exercises that deepen our appreciation for the unique gifts each of us brings to the world. This course can be a life changer for many students!

A safe space to simply BE.

This series takes a mind-body approach. We’ll release tension through yoga & mindful movement, explore deep relaxation, learn practices in self-compassion & gratitude, and restore inner confidence & joy through mindful meditation.

Mindful Kids Club

This program is for elementary students in grades K-5 who have taken a Mindful Kids course in the past. We will explore previously learned mindful awareness techniques & apply them to fun seasonal activities. This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to refresh & refine their skills in an engaging context among peers.
