Supporting your child's physical, social, and emotional wellbeing is more important now than ever before! Small group in-person classes are being offered at the Maitri Center to support all aspects of your child's wellbeing, so they can navigate our ever-changing world with greater resiliency & balance. Maitri Center welcomes children & families of all abilities, genders & identities. Mindful Munchkins

For kids ages 3-7 + their grownup

In person at Maitri Center

4 Wednesdays | 6:00-6:45 PM | September 7-28

An introduction to yoga + mindfulness for little ones!! Come play, sing, and discover the joys of movement and stillness together!


$60 for all 4 weeks (per 1 child + 1 grownup)

Mindful Kids 6-week series

For kids in grades K-5

In person at Maitri Center

6 Wednesdays | Nov. 2-Dec. 14 (skip 11/23)

4:30-5:30 PM (grades K-2)

6:00-7:00 PM (grades 3-5)

By planting the seeds of mindfulness, children will discover their inner calm and social connectedness through interactive games, stories, movement, and crafts!

Offered in partnership with Oregon Community Ed & Rec. $101 per child (includes all materials).

Learning to B.R.E.A.T.H.E.

Mindfulness for 'Tweens & Middle Schoolers

Specially designed for pre-/early adolescent students in grades 5-8 (ages 10-14), this engaging 6-week series teaches the essential elements of mindfulness through the acronym BREATHE:

  • Body & sensory awareness

  • Reflections (thoughts)

  • Emotions

  • Attention

  • Tenderness (kindness & compassion)

  • Healthy habits of mind

  • Empowerment


By cultivating mindful awareness of inner and outer experiences, students of all genders & identities will learn to connect with their innate peaceful and compassionate nature while practicing techniques that pave the way for greater balance, resiliency, and emotional intelligence.

Central to this course is our focus on nurturing our authentic selves through exploratory exercises that deepen our appreciation for the unique gifts each of us brings to the world. This course can be a life changer for many students!

Breathing Room for Teens

Give yourself some breathing room to come home to your authentic self.

A safe space to simply BE.

This series takes a mind-body approach. We’ll release tension through yoga & mindful movement, explore deep relaxation, learn practices in self-compassion & gratitude, and restore inner confidence & joy through mindful meditation.

Club Mindfulness Summer Workshop Series

This program is for students entering grades 1-6.

Exciting opportunity for kids to explore mindfulness through Japanese contemplative arts such as haiku & ikebana, as well as mindful movement, loving-kindness, and pebble meditation in the tradition of the late Vietnamese meditation master, Thich Nhat Hanh.

Each week a different theme and creative process will be explored! Option to attend individual dates or the full series. Fee includes all materials for weekly craft projects.
